New Traffic Signal Cabinets to be Installed This Week


A new traffic signal cabinet will be installed at the intersection of Tecumseh Road and 12th Avenue NE tomorrow, if weather permits. After 9 a.m., the intersection may be controlled by all-way STOP signs during completion of the new cabinet installation.
Weather permitting, new traffic signal cabinets will be installed Wednesday at both of the ramp intersections for the SH-9 interchange with Classen Boulevard as well as the SH-9 intersection with Technology Place. After 9 a.m., the intersections may be controlled by all-way STOP signs during completion of the new cabinet installation.
On Thursday, a new traffic signal cabinet will be installed at the intersection of SH-9 and Chautauqua Avenue, if weather permits. After 9 a.m., the intersection may be controlled by all-way STOP signs during completion of the cabinet installation.
The installation projects are administered by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. Once the projects are complete, the traffic signals will be operated and maintained by the City of Norman.
