Job Description
Duties:
Assists with planning and presentation of established curriculum to juveniles. Assists juveniles work toward completion of curriculum. Sets up facility and prepares packets for juveniles attending classes. Supervises juveniles performing community service projects. Reviews projects and develops work plans. Participates in planning program objectives and strategies. Assists with tracking attendance of juveniles and evaluates and reports on their participation in all programs. Develops cooperative relationships with agencies, organizations and City personnel.
Other Responsibilties:
Assists with maintaining inventory of equipment and supplies. Assesses needs and recommends program updates and development. Assists with preparing scheduling calendar and a variety of reports on program activities. Performs related duties as required.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a normal office and classroom environment and outdoor areas where community service opportunities may be present, such as parks, yards an other community areas.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. Some college or experience in education or with social service agencies. Experience working with juveniles preferred.
Knowledge:
Familiarity with practices associated with facilitation and instruction of planned curriculum, educational programs and juveniles. Familiarity with Microsoft software, Internet research tools, various audio visual equipment and general office equipment. Familiarity with practices associated with community service agencies, programs and juveniles.
Skills:
Interpersonal skills neceesary to effectively communicate and work with juveniles, parents, court officials and agency officials. Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing. Able to establish and maintain good working relationships with the general public, co-workers, juveniles, parents, court officials and agency officials.
License and/or Certification:
Valid Oklahoma driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
Mental & Physical:
Ability to assist in preparing and presenting educational program lessons. Ability to assist with program planning and implementation. Ability to pay close attention to detail and to prioritize and organize tasks. Ability to work with juveniles in an educational environment. Ability to work outdoors supervising juveniles. Ability to lift 15 lbs. Ability to maintain regular, predictable and punctual attendance.
