I-35 Aesthetics Design

A public meeting was held on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 5:30 p.m. in the Council chambers to present information and gather input regarding the proposed aesthetic designs for seven new or retrofitted bridges which cross Interstate 35 through Norman as well as the SH-9W bridge south of Norman. This is a joint project between the City of Norman and the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. ODOT and the City have partnered with another state agency, Oklahoma Art in Public Places (OAPP), which is directed by Ms. Debby Williams. The firm of Creative Design Resolutions, Inc. (CDR) of Baltimore, Maryland was hired by OAPP to design aesthetic features for the proposed new bridges at US Hwy 77, Tecumseh Road, Rock Creek Road, Robinson Street, Main Street, Lindsey Street, SH-9E and SH-9W. The proposed themes can be viewed by clicking on the following link.
