Hazard Mitigation Planning Survey

To better prepare for, and respond to, natural disasters, we are working in collaboration with the University of Okahoma Public Opinion Learning Laboratory (OU POLL) on a survey of Norman residents. The results will be used to inform the five-year Hazard Mitigation Plan currently being developed.

Public input is an important part of the planning process. Your assistance will help assure that the plan submitted to the State of Oklahoma Office of Emergency Management (OEM) and the Federal Emergency Managment Agency (FEMA) broadly addresses issues of concern to residents and enables local officials, emergency management and emergency responders to identify priorities and develop plans to minimize the risks to life and property throughout their jurisdiction.

Be a part of the planning in your community by providing your input online at

Your participation is voluntary and responses are anonymous unless you choose to provide your contact information.

NOTE: Only one response per household should be provided.

If you have questions, you can contact Dr. Amy Goodin at or David Grizzle, Emergency Management Coordinator, City of Norman, at You can also request to be added to a list to receive information about specific programs.
