BNSF to begin repairs on Rock Creek railroad crossing Tuesday

BNSF Railway will begin repairs Tuesday morning on the railroad track crossing on Rock Creek Road between Flood Street and 12 Avenue NW. The entire railroad crossing will be closed to through traffic during the repair, which is expected to be completed by Friday evening.

Barricades and signage will be in place to direct motorists through the appropriate detour.
The work is needed due to the poor condition of the concrete panels between the rails. The repair will improve the ride over the crossing.
BNSF Railway is responsible for repairs to their railroad crossing tracks but the City of Norman is coordinating with them for the convenience of Norman’s residents who travel Rock Creek Road.  For additional information, contact Stan West, street division, at 329-22524.
